CNG tank handling is different from flat or box-type component handling. The tank is cylindrical, heavy and can roll if not supported properly. It also has valve locations, mounting interfaces and surface coatings that must be protected during movement.
In commercial vehicles and buses, CNG tanks may be fitted on the chassis, roof structure, underbody area or dedicated tank mounting frame. Each location changes the handling challenge. The tank may need to be lifted higher, guided into a narrow space or aligned carefully with saddles and clamps.
