Spare Wheel Handling

Spare Wheel Handling Made Easier

Spare wheel handling changes from vehicle to vehicle. In cars, the wheel may need to be placed inside the boot. In SUVs or MUVs, it may be mounted on the back door or positioned below the vehicle. Fine Handling designs spare wheel handling systems to lift, orient, insert and place the wheel safely with less operator effort and better assembly consistency.

Fine’s manipulator supports safe lifting, orientation and placement of the wheel on or inside the vehicle.

Spare wheel handling is not the same for every vehicle. The position of the spare wheel changes based on vehicle design. This makes the handling method important.

In cars, the spare wheel is usually placed inside the boot. The operator has to lift the wheel, bend, insert it into the boot cavity and place it correctly. This can create fatigue and back strain when repeated across shifts.

In SUVs and MUVs, the spare wheel may be mounted on the back door. Here, the wheel has to be lifted to a higher position, aligned with mounting points and supported during fastening.

In some vehicle models, the spare wheel is positioned below the vehicle. This needs controlled lifting, orientation and upward placement from a difficult working angle.

Fine Handling designs spare wheel handling manipulators around the actual vehicle layout. The system can help lift, rotate, orient, insert and position the wheel with better control.

This reduces manual strain, improves operator safety and helps maintain fitment speed on the assembly line. Fine’s spare wheel handling solutions support safer, faster and more repeatable spare wheel placement for cars, MUVs and SUVs.
